The Visit

Sometimes evil pays me a visit when I sleep, upon waking up today, I just realized he paid me another visit. Of course when you’re dreaming, you never realize that you’re in one, instead, you’re only left wondering what’s happening and why. The series of events are so fast. There are parts you will remember and some you will forget.  I will be describing the events as far as I recall. It was a two-part story. I don’t think they are related by some sort but I wonder what it is implying or better yet its meaning. It goes like this.

I believe the setting was in Iligan but the place looked odd. Anyway, people gathered at the traffic light area crossing. It was like a politicians’ rally except that it wasn't some kind of a political agenda. After a while, we were told that we have to pray. We have to pray because earthquakes, typhoons and other calamities are coming and that it might be the end of the world. I thought we were praying the entire rosary but we only prayed, if I remember correctly, it was only 1 Hail Mary in Cebuano. After which, the people dispersed quickly. And at that time, I recall Honey was with me, which was weird because I didn't realize whether she was with me or not when I got there. Just beside the stage, there was a tarp or some kind of a sculptor or whatever where there stood two ladies in their red ethnic costumes much like in street dancing. Upon seeing it, Honey and I went there and took a picture of ourselves smiling with that as our back drop. We also had a picture taken together with those ladies.

Since, Honey and I didn’t bring any clothes with us so we had to go back to our house to pack our stuffs. People were in panic. They hurriedly gathered with their families bringing their packed bags all ready to go somewhere. But I wondered where? When I looked around, I saw Punky with Tito, Tita and the rest of their entire family ready to hop into their cars. So I thought “nah, let’s just ditch the packing idea lets go with them”. As we approached them, I saw some of my extended family as well. There was Auntie Celia, Ate Jecelle R. and Ate Jecyl S.; I can’t vividly remember who else was there at that moment. After paying respect and a brief “Hi” and “Hellos”, we went into the car with Punky’s family since they were only 4 of them, so there was an extra room for 2 more. Then, I woke up half asleep around 9am, still sleepy, I went back to sleep.

Here is the second part which is an entirely different story. I was going home surprisingly with my high school classmate Fritz, we were on a trisikad. I told the sikad driver “Kuya dini ra ko mo nanaog, dini ra amo” but he kept on driving until we reached Fritz place. He got off the sikad and walked further to his home. The sikad driver drove and turned right at the intersection, and then he just stopped upon reaching the corner where there were table and chairs. It was like an open canteen or food area. The people were busy eating and chatting. I thought he stopped to buy something to eat but he just suspiciously stood there. So I got off the sikad and watched him. He was standing still playing around with stones, levitating them and switching them from one place to another. I thought “This guy seems weird. He must be doing some black magic”.

I just watched him for a while, after which, I approached and told him that I’ll just find someone else to drive me home. He said “No, ako ra”. I said “it is okay ngita rako lain masakyan”. I was waiting for a vehicle to pass by when he said “ako rai hatud sa imo”. Then, he stuffed me at the back of a red van and it drove away. When I looked back to find out who was driving, I saw some guy who was furiously driving it and a kid at the passenger seat right next to him. I went there to try to stop the driver but he wouldn’t let me. It was like he was under some kind of a spell.  I was praising, casting and speaking in tongues I did everything I could possibly do to break the spell. It seemed to be “The ride of my life” or should I say The ride to my death”.

The next thing, I knew I was in a house. The house was empty but there was something inside there that the guy or the evil spirit wanted to get his hands on. I am not sure whether someone was with me, helping me to fight him. I closed all the entrances and windows so he couldn’t get in. I prayed and asked that the house be protected so he can’t get in. I had difficulty defeating him because he was just so strong and powerful. I tried to focus and kept on praying in tongues.

That was the last thing I remembered. Then, I woke up. When I looked at the time, I saw that it was already 11am. Whew! That was a 2-hour struggle! But that was all that I could recall. Hmm… What could it mean?

I haven’t really been religiously having my prayer time these past months. Perhaps, it’s a reminder for me to revive a good habit. It might have been a wake up call that I or “we” should never be too complacent because evil is working very hard to get us, to destroy us. We may not notice it because we are busy with other things but we should always pray every time and everywhere. These trying times we see all sorts of poverty, calamities, and crimes happening around us each day nonstop. We just hope everything will get better but we fail to fervently pray about it. I am reminded again and again that “There is more of what God can do, than what we can do for ourselves, even if we spend our lifetime trying”. Prayers can move mountains. More so, it can help us climb the right mountain to conquer.

Praise be to God and may His spirit be upon you today! Amen.

Divine Mercy Chaplet

1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles Creed.
2. Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

3. On the 10 Hail Mary Beads say the following:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

(Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).

4. Conclude with (three times):

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

In 1933, God gave Sister Faustina a striking vision of His Mercy,
Sister tells us:
"I saw a great light, with God the Father in the midst of it.
Between this light and the earth I saw Jesus nailed to the Cross
and in such a way that God, wanting to look upon the earth, had to
look through Our Lord's wounds and I understood that God blessed
the earth for the sake of Jesus."

Of another vision on Sept. 13, 1935, she writes:

"I saw an Angel, the executor of God's wrath... about to strike
the earth...I began to beg God earnestly for the world with words
which I heard interiorly. As I prayed in this way, I saw the
Angel's helplessness, and he could not carry out the just
punishment...."

The following day an inner voice taught her to say this prayer on
ordinary rosary beads:

"First say one 'Our Father', 'Hail Mary', and 'I believe'. Then on
the large beads say the following words:

'Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity
of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement
for our sins and those of the whole world.'

On the smaller beads you are to say the following words:

'For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the
whole world.'

In conclusion you are to say these words three times:

'Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us
and on the whole world'.

Jesus said later to Sister Faustina:

"Say unceasingly this chaplet that I have taught you. Anyone who
says it will receive great Mercy at the hour of death. Priests
will recommend it to sinners as the last hope. Even the most
hardened sinner, if he recites this Chaplet even once, will
receive grace from My Infinite Mercy. I want the whole world to
know My Infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginable graces to
those who trust in My Mercy...."

"....When they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I
will stand between My Father and the dying person not as the just
judge but as the Merciful Savior".
