God with Us!

Sometimes I wonder why some people waste their life away through drugs, alcohol and other nonsense stuffs Other times, they make illogical life changing decisions and few commit suicide.

Then, I realize that they might be in the most desperate circumstance and that no one even cared to be there to look or even just to listen. 

Most of the time, one only need to be heard so that he will feel better. You can never really rely on anyone to be there for you. You can never expect at all. But it's comforting to know that our God always listens and He is always with us. We don't need to look elsewhere. ♥♥♥

Why Not?

Sometimes we do things no one really requires us to do. Not because we are in competition with anyone else. But just the same, we challenge ourselves and prove that we can do it.

And sometimes, I find myself asking, "Why?" Why bother? Then, a thought blow me away, "Why not?? Why would you limit yourself of the things that you think you can do?" When God knows that you can do so much more. Why would you hinder God's beautiful plan just because you are afraid to try or you doubt your capability? We only live once. Why stop when you can do more? 

In reality, we must be humble enough to admit that it is not of our own strength that we succeed but it is by God's grace. Only by His grace will our efforts be glorified.. ♥♥♥

Are You There God?

There will always be moments in your life that you question if God really does exist. What is He doing? Why is He allowing certain things to happen to us?

Sometimes I wonder, "Is He really there?". I mean seriously, "Are You there God?". 

Then, I see people living on the streets with no decent home, no friends, no food, not even a good pair of slippers. Suddenly, a thought hit me. 

The fact that you are breathing, living, and experiencing "LIFE" is proof enough that God doesn't only exist but He is living with us! He is a Living God. He gives us exactly what we need. We are just impaired with our perception of things ought to be. We may not understand now because His wisdom is so deep, but one day we will in His most perfect time. ♥♥♥

Singles for Christ (Couples for Christ)

Overview of CFC Singles For Christ

CFC Singles for Christ (SFC) is one of the family ministries of Couples for Christ (CFC). It was founded to cater to the needs of single men and women from 21 to 40 years of age. “Single” refers to anyone within that age group who is free from any legal impediments to marriage. The pastoral care offered by the ministry, though, is not limited to those who are called for marriage, but includes as well those who may be considering either single blessedness or religious vocation as a state of life.

CFC-SFC was established in April 1993, when a group of about 40 single men and women, mostly from the Visayas Islands in the Philippines, met for a 3-day workshop in Kalibo, Aklan to talk about forming a ministry for single men and women under the leadership of CFC.

It initially aimed to provide a Christian support environment for single men and women who want to follow Christ. However, SFC has taken a more pro-active stance with regard to providing that environment, by making sure that it brings Christ to wherever the singles are the corporate setting, campuses, government institutions, even in prison and developing communities. This is in alignment with CFC`s thrust of rapid, massive and global evangelization.

How to join SFC

Who can join Singles for Christ?

All single Christian men and women aged 21 to 40 years old may join.

How do I become a member of SFC?

Single Christian men and women from 21 years old to 40 years old have to go through a Christian Life Program (CLP).

What is CLP?

The CLP or Christian Life Program is an integrated course intended to lead the program participants into a renewed understanding of God`s call to them as Christians.  It runs for a total of 13 separate sessions, usually held once a week.  Most sessions consist of three basic ingredients: a teaching, a group discussion, and a time for fellowship. Each session would normally last for about 2 1/2 hours.

What should I do if I am interested to attend the Christian Life Program (CLP)?

If you are interested on joining a CLP and later SFC, you may ask any SFC member that you know or you may check from list of CLP schedules below and get in touch with the contact person that is listed.

Do I have to pay anything?

There are no fees or any monetary expenses required from participants. The only investment required is time and openness.

I am already an SFC member from another area, but I just transferred on this area. How do I get to join SFC?

Seen in the Heart

Daily Reading & Meditation Friday (February 22): Do not be angry, be reconciled

Gospel Reading: Matthew 5:20-26

20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 21 "You have heard that it was said to the men of old, `You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.' 22 But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, `You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire. 23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison; 26 truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.

And may I quote, "Sin doesn't just happen; it first grows as a seed in one's heart. Unless it is mastered, by God's grace, it grows like a weed and chokes the life out of us. Jesus addressed the issue of keeping the commandments with his disciples. The scribes and Pharisees equated righteousness with satisfying the demands of the law. Jesus showed them how short they had come. Jesus points to the heart as the seat of desire, choice, and intention."

In Your freedom

Lord, I may not be a perfect daughter. But I try my very best to be. I try my best to follow Your will for me. I may fall many times. It is difficult enough to know that I have hurt you. I humbly bow down and look upon Your loving mercy towards me. Here I am broken and empty. I thank you and praise You still for Your faithfulness. Help me to listen to Your voice of truth. Help me to obey whatever You tell me. Help me to continue to love and serve you in all my ways. Without you, I am nothing. Apart from You, oh God, I am hopeless. In all these, I sincerely pray. Please hold my hand and be with me as I struggle to stand still in the storms of life. I know that nothing is impossible with you oh God. To You, I lift up everything. To You, I surrender. Thank you for Your love like no other. Bless Your holy name through Jesus and the intercession of mother Mary. Amen.

Deeper in Faith - 1st Household

Before I rest for the night, I just need to write this first. Today was our very first household with my sisters in the community. Since it was our first household, I hosted the event as their newly installed household head. I am happy that after being delayed and moved to different dates it finally pushed through. Although we were not complete because two of our sisters were not able to join us because of some reasons still it was a spirit-filled afternoon. Hopefully they will both be able to join us next time so we can be complete.Anyway after the household, we attended the last mass at around 7 o'clock pm. It was a Visayan mass. 

The Scripture Reading was taken from: Luke 5:1-11. As the priest delivered his homily, there were several points he mentioned but there was one thing that struck me the most. He said "go deeper in your faith". One should never be contented of the normal prayer, memorizing many novenas or reciting the Holy Rosary 10 times a day. For those who are already senior citizens, one should not ask for longer life. Not implying so that they can die sooner and save their sons and daughters from taking care of them but because they have lived their lives. More so they should ask God to take them deeper in their faith. Everyone is going to die anyway! So why ask for a longer life? So you can experience a lot of things? So you can achieve more? What for? So you can leave a legacy? So what? 

There may be many realizations that may come from reflecting on this wonderful message. But this is worth noting a constant reminder to all of us who easily forget. The time you allow Jesus to take over the "boat" is the only time you allow Him to take you deeper into the "sea". Only when you allow Jesus to take over your life is the moment that He will take you deeper in faith. This entails trust, patience, and perseverance. We should never be satisfied with our technical/mechanical relationship with God. We should be bolder and wiser. Always strive to be better if not best. God bless you!
