MBM Testimony

Ever since high school, I dreamed to have a master’s degree. Although, I didn’t really know exactly why, all I ever knew was that I wanted it. There was that certain desire in my heart to pursue it in this lifetime. So eventually, I did. I didn’t know what to expect but I was sure I will learn a lot. Indeed, it broadened my understanding of not only how the business operates but more importantly how the management thinks to sustain and achieve its vision and mission - a business operates not just for profit, but with a purpose in mind, to excellently serve its customers, provide a promising career for its employees and have a relevant contribution to economic health.

Taking the path to making the sought after “MBM dream” come true sure wasn’t easy, instead, it was challenging. Along the way, there were many times I asked myself “Is this really worth my time and effort? Is this really worth the sacrifice? What is in it for me, so what?” Also, many times I said to myself “I can live without it”, “I don’t really need it”, “Nah, I shouldn't bother”. But then again my conscience just won’t die down. It wouldn't let me give up at all especially knowing that I have already started the journey. I wasn’t in competition with anyone, not in school or in the playing field when applying for a job. Instead, I was pushing myself to do more just because I know that I can, only if I took the courage to do it. I wanted to prove to myself that I can accomplish what I started, dreamed, and hoped for.

I know that I am only able to do it by God’s abundant grace. I am glad that I did because over and over again, I saw how He was moving to reassure me of His unfailing love each step of the way. The experience not only afforded me with the knowledge and wisdom that is taught to us by our esteemed professors. But yet again, I have gained wonderful friendships and I have grown in my faith. It is amazing how much you can achieve by putting your best foot forward even if the foot wasn’t pedicured. Haha! Kidding aside, even when you think you are not ready or cannot do it or don’t know how, God has many ways of equipping you, taking you by surprise. So to all of those who are still contemplating, if you have that desire in your heart to take up MBM, then go ahead! No one is stopping you or keeping you from your dream except yourself, have no fear and know that you have a big God who makes all things possible to those who believe and trust in Him.

And when you’re struggling your way to finish it, remember: “Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done” as shared to us by our lovely brilliant professor, Mam Sheevun Di Guliman, in one of our classes. This simple phrase kept repeating like a loop in my head every time that I feel like giving up. And of course who would ever forget the constant follow up of my persistent ever supportive thesis adviser, Sir Adrian Galido, who kept me on my feet even when I was asleep. Funny, but it’s true, I dream about my thesis. Better yet, I don’t dream about it. I have had my share of nightmares.  Despite of all the sleepless nights and shameful moments I had with my classmates and professors coming up with all the necessary requirements for the said degree, it is fulfilling to say “I did it!” I am grateful to all who have been part of this journey. Without which, I wouldn't have met such beautiful people always willing and ever ready to help and share their time, treasure and talents.

Praise God for making all of you instruments and inspiration to making my once dream, come true. May you be blessed so much more than you could ever imagine or even dreamed of. Once again, I thank you all so much for such great memories!

Just another whisper to ponder!

Dear Vanz,

Being weak in one area means that’s not where I want you to serve. A weakness means you’re supposed to serve in another area.

Guide,
God

P.S. Don’t be too hard on yourself because of your weakness, Vanz. Your weakness isn’t my rejection but my redirection.

He loves Her = She loves Him

Video credit: Audrey Rose Sacris

I know this might be long overdue. You never heard much from me talking seriously about anything in particular when we meet but here goes nothing.

It was I who invited her to join the community. It as I who encouraged her to spread her wings, meet new friends and open herself up because there is more to life than what it "is". I knew what she have been through. Oh that pain that loving brings, when you give your heart to someone and it ends up betrayed and broken. Oh that pain of losing the one you love, the one that you hope to be with. But then again, life goes on. You move on whether you like it or not. Whether it takes a few days to many years, life goes on. Life must go on! You must move on. As if you had any other choice?!

I was glad to see her happy and revived from her past. I was rejoicing to know that she was safe and confident again in His love. That kind of bond which no human can surpass. That relationship that is as personal and sweet that will last. With that solid assurance that she will be fine, it was easier to go, be away and to do the things I wanted to do. And that time came, a message I received asking permission to make a move on her. He said he likes her and wants to pursue. I unselfishly and threateningly told him then, "Sure, it's fine. That's great but please make sure you treat her well. Or else!!"

Although I haven't seen how you really are together nor asked how you we're as often. I was hoping and praying that you just love one another. Seeing your captured moments and online status, I was assured you were doing good. But then again even though I don't ask, even if I am not there my eyes and ears always show up with something to say. Indeed, nothing is perfect and that's a fact that has been going on beyond my years. There you go swept off your feet by the one who came along your street. I was excited to say the least.

A promise of forever and till death do you part. A commitment forever carved in your heart. The road ahead is not as easy as it sounds. In your moments of sorrow and doubt, remember Him of whom everything began. This I always remind myself because I often forget. I urge you as well to remind yourself as often as you forget. According to Matthew 6:33 as it is written, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you"

Let me tell you this, everyone has its flaws and failures. Shortcomings here and there. I won't be a judge to you but I want to encourage you. I would say "you don't have to prove the world anything but you owe to yourselves that love". That love that God himself gave from above. At the end of the day, you are not just sweethearts nor just lovers anymore but you have been given the responsibility to care more. The proof of your love is right there between your fingers. If you need to see more proof, then look at that gift of life, that angel smiling right back at you. Or better yet, close your eyes and feel the beat of your heart. And let me ask, "what does it tell you??"

So be weary not for He is always with you. Now, that is a promise that will always be true. For real love is patient and it is kind. You may be envious at times, boastful and even proud.  You may all at once dishonor others, easily angered or be selfish in your ways. But love, well, it doesn't mind. Yes! It doesn't mind because love keeps no records of wrongs nor secrets - only upholding the truth. Because all it wants to do is protect, trust, hope, and persevere in you. Really, it only needs to do is to keep on loving you! 1Corinthians 13:4-7

Whatever you are going through day in and day out, whatever your emotions be, ask yourselves "Is this love?". Also, always ask guidance and protection from the One above. You are never alone in this journey. You never were. God has His purpose in you it stays. Although to my dismay, missed your very wedding day. Always praying for you guys with much love onward and beyond and everyday. ♥♥♥

Shine on me

I am here but really fading away
My face, I just could not dare to you show
You have saved me, still I have gone astray
Should have known better, continuously grow

Constant is Your love every night and day
To me, all of the goodness overflows
But I deliberately disobey
What a wretched heart this is and it shows

Please forgive me for I have grown weary
Failed to see everything You've done for me
Impatient and stubborn these past few days
Believe the whispered  lies that bounded me

Always remind me over and again
Till the end, You are here walking with me
Oh let the sun shine on me in this rain
Coz we're one in this short but sweet journey

Roti de Iligan

Roti de Iligan

Here is another treat!

I was first introduce to this "Roti de Iligan" by my officemate, Stacy, about a year or two ago. It was my first roti experience then. Today, my sister and foodtrip buddy, Honey got a taste of her first roti as well. She ask me what it is. I told her it's like pita bread but stuffed with a filling. So there you go, I asked her also to pose for the cam as we were waiting to be served.

Well upon arriving at our place, I looked up the term and found out that, Roti means bread. It has been derived from the Sanskrit word "rotika". Typically an Indian bread, it is usually created from wheat flour where the unleavened bread is cooked on a slightly concave or just a flat iron griddle called tava. Pita, on the other hand, is somewhat leavened wheat bread. It can be either round or oval but it still is a flat bread like roti. Leavened or not, there is a very wide variety of these flat breads originating around the globe. Regarded as one of the most ancient breads, it doesn't necessarily require utensils or oven to produce. It can be eaten as is or can be used to scoop or wrap different meat and vegetable toppings.

If you want to try it, you may roam the streets of Iligan. They used to park their multi-cab at the back of BPI but I just learned that they have transferred. Now, you can spot them at corner of Metrobank Aguinaldo (Point A on the map) with their tricycle as shown in the photos. The roti is available in 3 flavors chicken, beef and tuna. It cost only Php20.00 each.

Enjoy!

Just Can't Tell

There are things I just can't tell
Things that only I and He knows
Although I want to share and spill
Everything I have in mind

I don't want to spoil anything
I'll just wait and see it unfold
By His grace, not with my will
But in His most perfect time
♥♥♥

Who is going to save you now?

All I see is darkness in this forbidden place
Thunder roaring above the dark skies
As the drops of rain fall on every piece of the Earth

Not refusing just accepting, everything given
Even though it had had enough already
Been used, consumed and wasted

Been drugged and restored but to no avail
No rewind, no turning back once it's done then "it's done!"
There is no undo button to change it back

The price to pay for this devastation is just starting to unfold
Be weary not, for its your move that has done it all
My only question is "Who is going to save you now?"

Gina's BBQ Xpress

Gina's BBQ Xpress

Last night, my sister Honey and I were up for another barbecue dinner. So even though, it has quite a distance from our place, we decided to dine at Gina's BBQ Xpress. The one in Tibanga just beside sanitarium because it's closer than their Palao main diner which was where I was first introduced to by my cousin Munching a few years ago. It became one of my favorites since then.

What really draws me to eat here every time I crave for barbecue is the unique yummy taste of their barbecue that matches very well with their special "suka" called Sr. Pancho Sukang Palapa which is comparable to Iligan's Famous - Sukang Pinakurat. It's just a perfect dip. They offer Busog Meals starting at Php45.00. It includes 1 rice, 3 barbecues, an ice tea and a free soup. Mind you, might want to order some more of the rice. To say the least, we are rice monsters. lol..;p

Aside from their food, they also sell Sandisks flash drives, Raquel's pastries (if I am not mistaken), and a wide range of frozen meat products like chorizo, longanisa, pork tapa, tocino, embutido and their best seller boneless sweet ham.

For their latest updates or if you have questions or better yet orders, visit and like their Facebok page Gina's BBQ Xpress. So when you have a chance to visit Iligan City might as well drop by at Gina's and have a bite of their best tasting barbecue for yourself. I bet you'll keep on coming back for more.

Here is a collage of the place and its location.

Enjoy!
